The association
The fiddle camp Crisol de Cuerda, the folk retreat Crisol de Invierno, the Fiesta en la Plaza de Agés, and other activities all arise from the Asociación Crisol de Cuerda Tradicional, a non-profit association registered with the Junta de Castilla y León's Association Registry (no. 0004032) and the Burgos City Council's Municipal Registry of Civic Organisations (no. 760). According to our association's bylaws, its aims are:
- To promote the traditional and folk music of the different regions of Spain.
- To champion the role of traditional music as an element of cultural cohesion.
- To provide an educational and training framework centred on traditional music.
The association was founded in 2009 by Blanca Altable and Javier Ortega (you can find out more in the "History" section). Today, it is made up of people who, having participated in Crisol, have formed a special bond with the camp, its community, and its spirit, and have chosen to dedicate part of their free time to driving the project forward and ensuring it reaches more people every year.

Would you like to become part of the association? If you'd like to get involved — whether by helping to organise the Crisol de Cuerda camp, taking part in other activities we run, or simply staying up to date with how the project is evolving — you can do so by becoming a member. The only requirement is having attended the camp on at least two occasions. If you'd like more information, don't hesitate to get in touch.
We are a non-profit association. All organisational and administrative work is carried out on a voluntary basis, and all resources go entirely towards the development and improvement of the project. If you'd like to support our work, you can also do so through a donation. Any contribution, large or small, helps us keep growing and keep the spirit of Crisol alive.
